"Bremen" - It was a mostly Slavic affair this time around at the Glocke, where Musica Viva’s concert had drawn a sizable crowd. … It was an evening … lent wings by the outstanding performances of the soloists. … The harp solo, “La source,” which Todtenhaupt unfurled with marvelous deftness, was like a priceless necklace of diamond notes, like something from another world.

"Enchanted by the harp" - Maria Todtenhaupt delights in Gömnigk church. … On Sunday, Maria Todtenhaupt took her audience on a journey through 5,000 years of musical history in the Gömnigk village church. More than 100 listeners thanked the soloist with a prolonged ovation, utterly delighted by her exceptional artistry. … The harpist’s love of her instrument was apparent between songs as well, in her commentary on history and music. Many had been unaware that an important part of playing the harp involves the foot, which is used to press the pedals. Afterward, the audience at the third concert in the Märkische Musikfestspiele series (presented by this newspaper) had a chance to admire the instrument up close.

"Three harps and a lady"
In Rheinsberg this weekend, music set the tone. Charming harpist Maria Todtenhaupt took the audience along with her on a fascinating musical and instrumental journey through the ages, accompanied by a Celtic harp, a classical concert harp, and a Paraguayan harp from South American shores. The concert was held in the palace’s Hall of Mirrors. As in past concerts, Todtenhaupt held her audience spellbound by the sounds of her harp. The secret of her success is that she does not limit herself to performing the works of harp literature. She combined the musical with interesting details on the eras in which the works were written.
